Winter festival in Sapporo

Japanese non-state holiday is celebrated in Sapporo, capital of Hokkaido, annually at the beginning of February and lasts 7 days. During the festival, constructed more than a hundred sculptures of snow and ice.The tradition of celebrating the Snow Festival originated in 1950. That year, in the framework of children's party, high school students of one of the schools in Sapporo Odori Park snow six animal figures have been established.
